You Can Fish (the "Site," youcanfish.com) is operated by Avida LLC ("we," "us," "our"). This policy explains what information the Site collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. We've tried to keep it plain and honest.

The short version

We don't require an account, and we don't ask you for personal information to read the Site. The only data we collect is anonymous usage analytics, and only after you acknowledge our cookie notice. We don't sell your data.

Information we collect

Analytics. With your acknowledgement, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the Site — which pages are popular, how people arrive (search, social, direct), and general device and browser information. This helps us decide what to build and improve. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects data such as your approximate location (derived from your IP address, which Google truncates), pages viewed, time on page, and referring source. We see this information only in aggregate; we do not use it to identify you personally.

This data is processed by Google on our behalf. You can review how Google handles data at policies.google.com/privacy, and how Google uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Cookies and local storage. Analytics cookies (named _ga and similar) are set by Google Analytics only after you click "Okay" on our cookie notice. We also store a small flag in your browser's local storage to remember that you acknowledged the notice (so it doesn't appear on every visit) and to remember your selected color theme. These are stored on your device and are not sent to us.

Server logs. Like virtually all websites, our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP addresses and requested pages) for security and operational purposes.

Your choices

• Don't acknowledge the notice. If you don't click "Okay," Google Analytics is not loaded and no analytics cookies are set.
• Clear your browser storage to reset your acknowledgement and remove the flag and any analytics cookies.
• Use browser controls to block or delete cookies, or a tracker-blocking extension.
• Opt out of Google Analytics everywhere with Google's opt-out browser add-on.

What we don't do

We don't sell, rent, or trade your information. We don't run advertising networks on the Site, and we don't build personal profiles of visitors.

External links

The Site links to other websites (for example, the sources we cite and manufacturer or retailer pages). We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their privacy practices. Review their policies when you visit them.

Children

The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Site evolves. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes will be reflected here.
